Thunbergia grandiflora or Blue Sky Vine is a fast, aggressive growing, climbing vine that can provide rapid cover for a trellis, fence, arbor or other support.

It is a prolific, nearly year-round bloomer that produces an abundance of large, very showy lavender toned blue and creamy white bell shaped flowers that are attractive to pollinators.

This grows quickly, and can gain several feet of growth in a single season. It will quickly scamper up over and through a trellis or other support. Leaves are pointed serrated, dark green ovals that grow dense and tight in pairs along the twining stems.

Blue Sky Vine will grow in full or light shade. However, bloom will be reduced in proportion to available light. Young plants should be protected from direct hot sun until well established and gradually acclimated into a full sun location.

Blue Sky Vines are tropical plants recommended for USDA Zones 9, 10, 11 (Cold protection is recommended for all Zones for the best year round appearance, earliest bloom, and longest life. are frequently grown outside of the recommended Zone Range and over wintered indoors.
